Summer Solstice!

We spent our solstice in the yard! Summer arrived with plenty of heat so we spent the day trying to stay cool! There was bathing suits, hoses, makeshift pools, bikes, fruit, no cooking, fans, and laundry blowing in the breeze! During one part of the day when the heat was just unbearable we retreated to the house that we somehow kept about 10 degrees cooler most of the day (with no air conditioning)! During our time inside I made my version of the Midsummer's wreath from the recent edition of Rhythm of the Home. Our day ended with a late (cool enough), cold picnic dinner out backyard in the grass.

Girly-Girl Time!

Oh the girly-ness that happened here! The boys were helping someone move and so we had a little fun. :) There was toenail painting, dressing up, new hair flowers, and pictures, pictures, pictures!! What beauties I have!

Girl Fun!

I made some play-dough the other day for the girls, Leili was not quite sure what to do with it at first. I was afraid she would eat it, her bowels don't need any extra issues. She LOVED it and Fern LOVED being the expert. That does not happen too often with two know-it-all big brothers. The brothers did begin to swarm and I shewed them away. I did not get anything done during their busy fun, I just sat there taking pictures and watching. :)

A Tiger No More!

Jake has had a crazy Tiger year, and now he's a Wolf! This troop had a too cute tradition for "bridging under", Jake thought it was great!

In honor of the new Muppet movie coming out, and our love of all things Kermit we were enspired to create this smoothy! Enjoy!

Running Away!

Since Dan was not on call yesterday we wanted to run away from town! So we ran away to the hills of the wild west! To Virginia City! We had lots of fun, we did not get to see and do everything we wanted (too early in the season) but we did get see a couple museums including one with the desk Mark Twain worked at as a news reporter, and we got to go into the Ponderosa Mine! While in the mine our guide lit a candle and turned out the electric lights to show us how they worked, then he blew out the candle! I have never seen dark like that! The kids got old fashion candy (a bribe to get my souvenir), I got my souvenir it's up there at the top, I think that picture just proves you should not mess with this family! If only all my boys wore cowboy hats daily...

Happy Man Jake lost his first tooth and the tooth fairy visited him!

He also lost a second tooth but that was because the dentist said it had to go, but he was super and did a great job!
